Pueblo Nature Center Easter Sunday 2006
This was a Tookie Day. We went to see Ice Age: The Meltdown, and then went for a bike ride and did some fishing at the Nature Center.
She hooked six trout, but only beached three. We pinch the barbs on the hooks as we do catch and release, and pinching the barb causes less injury to the fish. It also allows them to throw the hook much more easily. These trout were airborne a lot of the time which thrilled Tookie no end. Lots of jumping and splashing. "Like on TV, Poppy!". Yep. But TV ain't no sub for the real thing.
A grand time was had by all.
Bike: Specialized Hotrock
Fishing equipment: Ultralight by Shakespeare
Temp: Balmy and very pleasant. No mosquitoes.

Keep the tip up, Toots! |
This trout is in the swirl right off the edge of the rocks. He's hard to see. There was a school of them lazing about in a deeper cut out under the bridge. |
She has just wet her hands in preparation to de-hook and release. Do not attempt this in your living room. Trained fisherperson at work. No trout were killed in the making of this production. |
